Rubber wiring sleeve at bootlid hinge

Featured Replies

What's the trick to reattaching this without tearing the rubber? Been swearing at this for 20 mins.

I bet @SashaGrace has some knack..

May be you can use a small drop of dishwasher soap. It will firstly act as a lubricant and enable you to put it back in place. Then it will act almost like ´glue´ once dry. 😉

I found it easiest to unclip the plastic from the bootlid, reattach the rubber and simply clip the plastic back in.

If I recall, there were two clips on the long sides that need prodding.

As Rob says, remove the plastic clip, reattach that clip to the rubber and then clip back into the car.
