My lovely Fabia automatic has recently developed the shudders when going through the gears, both in drive and sports mode. I'm not a mechanical type but have had it looked at and 'diagnosed' and serviced but to no good effect. To me it feels as if the gears are slipping or the timing is off. This concern has recently been added to by

the appearance of the amber engine management light and some shuddering when idle, ie at traffic lights. Can anyone help?

Shuddering at idle with EPC sounds like some sort of timing issue. A possbility it could be clutch/dmf.

 

Take it to someone witha code reader to see what the actual issue is.

Your profile indicates you have a 2012 Fabia 1.2

 

That would make it a Mk2 Fabia and not a Mk3, so wrong forum

 

As advised above, get hold of a code reader to see whats putting the EML on.

 

Could be something as simple as a worn spark plug/failing ignition coil pack/faulty ignition lead. 

 

OBD code readers are available from as little as £20 from places like Euro Car Parts, might be cheaper than asking a garage to do it.

What engine does your car have,

and how many miles has it done?

 

You say looked at serviced and diagnosed.

Was your car one that required the Service Campaign on the DQ200 DSG, cars from 2010-2012, '34F7', synthetic oil changed for mineral & a software update,

or was that not necessary on your DSG because a late 2012 car, 

also not requiring the campaign '34H5' which was on some DQ200 DSG's from 2013-2015.
