The rubber grommet on one of the electric boot struts has come off the groove on my karoq . 
wondering  if anybody had the same happening.

Is that some sort of oil leak showing or just a trick of the light?

If an oil leak then the dealer should be the first port of call.

It’s not an oil leak. It’s the lubricant to cure the noisy boot struts. A month ago I took my car over to check on the drive side noisy boot strut, especially  while closing. The mechanic oiled both the struts just in case. But I had the boot driver side strut  replaced yesterday. It’s the passenger side strut grommet that has popped off.
