Heating / Aircon issues

Featured Replies

Help, hope this isn’t duplicates as I’ve asked in the yeti forum as well.

my friends 2014 1.2 Yeti has an issue with the heating/ aircon control, it spins freely left and right but seems to select a temperature at random. Turning the heat down and selecting aircon doesn’t help, sometimes it gets colder, other times it stays the same, other time it gets warmer.

has anyone had same problem and know a solution ?

thanks in anticipation, Simon

When turning the temp dial, the digital display should read from lo, 18, 19 etc up to hi. If the car has climate turn on auto, ac on and set required temp ie 20° and leave 24/7 365. You also have the option of having each side having individual control or can be set that both are linked together and controlled from the drivers side dial.

Thanks for that, I think the unit is differed, no display as such, just dials as photoimage.thumb.jpeg.589ce0ba8d782411938e0d5fe2d153e8.jpeg

Normally uses the screen above the radio!

Thats the basic non climatronic aircon like mine, there are no temperature readouts, its old school turn towards red for hot, blue for cold & have to adjust it all the time to maintain a constant temperature just as we always used to do.

The dial should turn freely but there are stops at the full hot & full cold position, if yours really can turn freely through 360° then its damaged.

Mine keeps a relatively stable temperature, not as good as a Climatronic but like an old school vehicle, if yours is fluctuating wildly from hot to cold then there will be either a problem with the temp dial or a sensor, I doubt that it uses as many sensors as Climatronic if any at all, a VCS scan and then a check using measuring blocks while varying the temperature setting should reveal the problem.
