Passenger window motor

Featured Replies

Hi. I've been looking for a window motor as my fab didn't have one when I got it last year. I've seen one with part number 6Y2959801 and looks like a good fit, but it has 2 sockets and I only have 1 plug on the wiring loom. I'm guessing that the reason is probably to cater for euro right hand drive versions but want to make sure before I go ahead. TIA

What year is the car?

2007 mk1

In that case it's the correct part, especially if it was previously in a Mk1 Fabia too.  (Quite likely if UK sourced)

Does it say Fabia II in your profile just to confuse? :wondering:

Should do, but I just want to make sure, especially as it has an extra socket.

I mistakenly bought this one (in the picture) and fitted it, but didn't work. I think it's from pre-facelift mk1s.

No, I have a mk2 vrs also. The mk1 is my partner's (I converted her :) ) but I do all the work and maintenance on it.

Yeah, the 6q.. parts and 6y... ones aren't interchangeable. Different data bus types.

Ok, that makes sense. I will go for it then and hopefully she'll have a functioning passenger window soon. Thanks for your help Wino and nice to meet you! :)
