How to read speed in kph

Featured Replies

Is it possible to change the digital speed display to kph? Before anyone says 'RTFM' I have done and cannot find any information.

It is not generally available as it is a known fault with the Head Units fitted to some cars.  Check out the Topic KPH/MPH in this group.  Many owners have had their cars bought back my Skoda as there is a legality issue under the Construction & Use Regs.  The long sad saga is well documented under that topic together with the contact details of senior members of Skoda UK with whom many of us have had contact.

Sorry to hear you may have the issue and hope that you are able to obtain a satisfactory resolution.

You want to do this and make it illegal to drive your car in the UK?

Or maybe they just plan to drive in Europe at some point?

From memory, it is in Menu —> Settings —> Units

Should be able to change the speed between KPH & MPH and , if fitted, the SatNav to Km or Miles.

Though as @Nosnehm mentioned, many of us have the option to change, but nothing happens!

Yes it's for when we travel to Europe.

Sorry to be pedantic but North Yorkshire is in Europe,

but i know what you mean as in driving where the speeds are posted in Kph.

You are correct - thanks. I've posted this reply in the kph/mph thread.

Our Octavia iV estate was bought on May 11th and yesterday I set kph in settings. The digital display now shows kph. I'm not aware of any software updates as when I'm asked on the car's display I refuse, so it was always available. I also set the clock to 'automatic' and via the SIM card, it now displays internet time. This should fix the problem I had with random time changes. The dealer told me yesterday that Skoda UK has received a software update and several thousand cars are eligible for the 'fix' and owners should be contacted by their dealer. Ours is already booked in on June 17th.
