Which part of "space saver" is confusing you? They are called that exactly because they are smaller diameter and narrower than the road wheels and tyres fitted to the car. It's also normally recommended (or required by law) that you keep usage to under 50 miles at no more than 50mph with one fitted. You may well find that your standard wheel/tyre combination will actually fit into the well in the boot anyway.

Oh and if you want a proper spare rather than a can of gunk, don't forget you'll need a jack, a wheelbrace and possibly a locknut key to get the punctured wheel off the car and the spare on.

Have you actually read my question ? Not confused by what a space saver is one bit . It’s quite obvious what they are , what they do and what they are capable of even for someone like me ! I want a space saver that will fit the hubs of my car ! I’m presuming that you being an expert and all would know about technicalities and possible alternatives or variations available . For example will a 16” fit or maybe an 18”.

I think the problem is that this is a question that has been asked a few times, if you don't search some get a bit tetchy. :tongueout:

But the standard OEM spare wheel is a 16" regular wheel and tyre and will fit over your scout brakes just fine as will the 18" 'space saver' that is meant for the vRS with big brakes and is unnecessary for the Scout.

The one problem is tyres, the Scout has slightly taller tyres than all other models so any standard spare wheel (and 205/55/16 tyre) will be slightly undersize for the Scout and could cause a bit of issue with the 4x4 system if you ran on it too much (even at 50mph) . 205/60/16 is the better fit for the Scout but not completely sure it would fit in the boot.

Not sure what the Scout came with as a spare if you ordered it from the factory as I have only ever driven one of them.

Yes. You asked someone to find a '17" space saver for me because I can't'!  Complaining because the immediate response is "there is no such thing" is rude. Doubly so when the respondent makes several helpful suggestions and observations.

You might want to think about your openings then , I was asking a straight forward question and your first line was a smart arse comment and nothing to do with what I asked
