Hi people, I have been clearing out the drain channels and plenum chamber and all has gone well apart from refitting the scuttle panel. Everything suggests it just slots back in to the groov under the screen, but having spent an hour or so pushing and shoving, it seems not to be so easy. Has anyone had a problem with this, or better still, hint or tips to refit it?

Just make sure it’s all cleaned out really well, line it up at one end and start working your way along 

do this bit 1st before fitting clips, bonnet seal etc

its the best way I’ve found 

Hi Snapper, thanks, yes I can get it to snap in at the ends but after about 8 inches it just sort of rocks and flexes but won't engage. I've tried a bit of silicon lube but it's not helped. It doesn't seem to be a common problem so I'm either not finding the 'knack' or I'm just lucky!

Mine was hard to get back on too. Needed a good push. It was a few years ago now but I think I put a bit of washing-up liquid on the bottom of the glass.

I'm wary of not pushing too hard, don't want to crack the screen.

Yeah I know what you mean. Try some neat washing-up liquid, it's far slippier than silicone.
