Noisy steering rack/motor?

Featured Replies

Hi my steering is making a bit of a loud buzzing noise when on full lock under load. Is this normal? I can’t remember my previous Octavia doing this.

It’s a 2020 car with 12k on the clock.

Make sure that you have enough fluid in your brake fluid tank - I canny remember if the Octavia's are hydrolic or electric power steering pumps.

  1. Try and not hold the steering against the lock stop. An inch or so back at the wheel rim away  from the stop is enough to relieve the load.
  2. If your car has electro-hydraulic PAS, check the PAS fluid level.

Electric. There’s no power steering fluid reservoir.
