Hey all

 

My mk1 vRS has developed a rattle from a loose cat guard. It sounds like the rattle a fridge compressor makes when you move it about.

 

The 'rear' fixing seem to have rusted off entirely;

 

 

I'm thinking of using these stainless steel hose clips to reattach it. Do you think this will solve the issue?

You could just remove it. Mine was removed years ago and is still on the original exhaust now.

I decided to use a hose clamp to reattach the shield, but it turns out the knocking was coming from further down the exhaust system, where the mount is as it bends before entering the back box.
