Hi All so maybe for a few months now i,ve had an intermittent error flash up saying visit workshop its only ever on for literally a second or 2.I took a trip to London a couple of weeks back upon leaving Hull the glow plug started flashing then went into limp mode with auto stop start error on dash.I pulled over and turned ignition on and off 3 times this seemed to clear the fault,so on i went on my trip to London the car has been fine since.However this morning upon taking my wife to work the car started to stutter as if a fuel blockage somewhere then upon my return home the car went into limp mode again with same issues as previously mentioned above,i pulled over did same ignition switch off but this time a few minutes later went into limp mode again,luckily i was,nt far from home so just parked on drive.Would appreciate anyones help before i start booking into garages etc.

Several things could cause that, you really need to find someone local with a diagnostic tool to see the actual fault code(s).

If you click on the map links from @PetrolDave added, it will "show" you members of this forum that have VCDS diagnostic tool that might be able to help,  just zoom in on the map near your location to find someone. It shows in the list of users someone in Hull. 

 

Then send them a private message to see if they might be able to help you by getting fault codes read from the car.
