Hi folks just bought a 2018  December edition 2.0 l diesel 190 4x4 with 38000 miles on it , is it now due a gearbox service at 40000 or is it four years ?.

Every 40k miles

worth doing the Haldex at the same time (oil change and filter clean)

Has the Haldex been serviced at 3 years or 30,000 miles?

It’s not three years old till December was serviced in 30/07 with 36743 miles but print out just says inspection with oil change

DSG and Haldex are not done under normal services, they are an extra.

IF you dealer says either doesn’t need doing then find a good independent VAG garage to do it.

That is the issue with Skoda Main Dealers and Full Main Dealer Servicing, that does not mean serviced to Manufacturers Recommendations or Guidelines.

They do not call them a Schedule as many Skoda Approved Cars would then be 'Not serviced as according to the Manufacturers Service Schedule'.

The 4 years here is wrong with the DSG,  but many dealers are now counting on people paying attention.

Funny enough, I'm having this discussion right now with my dealer!  We have a 2017 car with very low miles (not even 27,000 yet, but coming up to 4 years old.  They told me I needed the DSG oil and filter doing (...for a mere £289)!  I've just (today, in fact) received the following answer from Skoda UK:

Dear Mr XXXXX

Thank you for your recent contact with ŠKODA Customer Services. I apologise for the delay in my response.

I refer to your questions below which I have highlighted.

a) which gearbox we have and; – The gearbox is a DQ500

(b) whether the DSG oil and filter change recommendation is time or mileage-based?
DSG oil and filter change is mileage based so it is required at 40,000miles

I hope this information proves to be of use. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for contacting ŠKODA UK.

Kind regards"

So I'm going to leave the DSG oil change for another year (I'll be surprised if it even hits 40k by this time next year, to be honest.
