Boot lid with spoiler (MK2 VRS)

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just wondered if anyone knew if the MK2 boot would fit a MK2.5 (facelifted), just been quoted 350 to fix a dent where I can buy a broken down car's boot for £60 and either fit it myself or have someone else do it for cheap.

I'll attach some pics of the dents for reference, the last pic (with scribbling) is the replacement boot that I'm looking at purchasing.

Any advice would be great! Thanks

It should fit as it’s a Mk 2 with a revised bonnet and big headlights, TSI engine and some interior revisions. Never heard a Mk 2 FL called Mk 2.5 before - perhaps that’s a new selling point.

Howdy,

Was just about to ask the same question but other way around;  will a MkI Ph1 boot fit onto a MkII Ph2?
My Ph2 VRs estate boot has rust and I am looking to replace.

So @Redboy these are the same panel/connectors/spoiler etc? Many thanks for your advice.

And @Oswren can you let me know how you get on please?

It would be much easier to simply replace like with like. I imagine a Mk1 boot/hatch is not the same size/fitment.

Sorry @Redboy typing error,

should have read “will a MkII Ph1 boot fit onto a MkII Ph2”? But I do miss my MkI VRs!

Shall post some pics and critical dims to confirm, or is that unnecessary and they ARE the same?

Many thanks for advice.

@icedinkthe MKII estate has the same boot 2006-2012. Look at some photos on Autotrader.
