What is this?

Featured Replies

Pumped all my tyres up and thought it’s best to pump up the spare as I don’t think I’ve done it before (full size but limited to 50mph, pfft)

Upon removing the wheel I found this underneath loose.

Any ideas?

Is there any vw/Skoda stamp on it or part number?

if not; it’s probably not part of your car and just rolled under there from something else

Nothing on there. I’ve got a massive moment of deja vu over this, as I’m sure someone else posted a picture of something similar a year or so ago but can’t find it.

It may not have a stamp on it because it goes into something else so won’t have its own part number.

Only thing I can think of is the retractable parcel shelf but that’s all the way in one of my lofts

Re the Full Size Spare.

Still a temporary tyre or one to reduce the speed with if a Different Wheel, Size, Offset with a different tyre / compound / tread / pressure from the one on the other side of the car.

A green / new tyre with release compound still on.

A Full Size matching the other wheels / tyres being a different matter.

You’re probably getting confused with the transportation spacers on the shocks. This isn’t one of them, normally they are brightly coloured
