Bit unimpressed with my local dealer so far so wanted to sense check.

 

Have placed an order with them, but everything in the process is so slow.  From the manager calling to sort the finance check, to... well... not sure, as it's now gone quiet again, so I have no idea if the dealer has actually placed the order with Skoda yet.  It's been over a week since agreeing the spec, pricing etc.

 

Is this standard or other dealers a bit more responsive with making things happen?

I don’t know what response your expecting, if you signed the deal your order should have went in that day or at least the next day.

You MIGHT get an email from Skoda UK saying thanks for your order, but until the dealer gets a built date, which is unlikely to be any time soon, it’s not unusual to not hear anything.

Did the dealer give you an expected delivery date.

There’s plenty post on here of delivery delays, and recent orders being given as March/April 2022.

Your first sentence sums it up: It's when the order should go into Skoda themselves.

 

This is what I've had zero confirmation on, and no response from the dealer.  No ETA on delivery date.  

 

So, I totally know that build times are really up in the air due to the current supply issues.  What I'm unhappy about is the dealer sandbagging actually making the order.

 

I'll give them another day but then will exercise 14 day cancellation rights and go to a different dealer (and poll on here for recommendations for those that have better comms).
