Hi all, new here, but have tried a lot of suggestions to try and get my boot open and just can't do it.

 

How much force should be necessary to pry the boot open from inside the car via the little latch (using a screwdriver)? I tried with a fair amount of force earlier, and think I've damaged the latch - mine appears to be a white plastic/resin.

 

Any suggestions? I did pull some of the trim off as well, but can't see anything that would help me get the boot open.
