How easy to replace passenger mirror (electric, heated) please ?

Featured Replies

I scraped the LHS mirror, and need another one.

I have moderate car skills, but not got the Haynes manual.

Is it relatively straightforward, if slow, please ?

Hi, Yes they are not too hard. Generally, they have a few bolts/screws underneath the plastic triangle shaped trim, inside the door. unbolt, unplug and remove. Reverse to re-fit.

Just so you know, the painted plastic caps can also be removed, if its just that part that is damaged. You will need to remove the bevel (Kind of frame, around the mirror) To split off the top painted half and just be careful not to crack off the lugs that clip it all together. The bezel too, is replaceable, if that was damaged and often is actually cheaper from the main dealer then say, eBay, etc. For the mirror complete, eBay, CP4L, Eorocarparts, etc are the best bet. If its the backing plastic, you might just still find an eBay company who supply them, painted to your colour for a similar price Skoda want (Or even less) Just for the cap.

What colour do you have?

What colour do you have, and what is the extent of the damage?

Not difficult the door mirror panel coner cover comes off but use a plastic prise tool not metal  then loosen the 3 torx bolts but do  not remove them, the door card has to come off as with mine i could not get at the multi plug to realease it that part takes the most time really don't forget the switch for the window motor as card needs to come off so far before you can unplug the harness to it, putting, loosly mount mirror and check everything works ok before refitting card make sure outside temp is working as this is located in this mirror on r/hand drive cars putting card back is reverse but agian don't forget the wiring harness before clipping card back to the door
