Skoda octavia 1.6tdi 2011 DSG 7 battery issue

Featured Replies

hello guys, yesterday I got problem with my car DSG 7 start to show flashing spanner symbol, and I have change mechatronics unit  8 month ago now I got similar problem, also i have very bad battery but  still i didn't change  yet. yesterday I try move my car but battery was fully drained  i couldn't start my car , may be this transmission problem cause due to  my bad battery? please let me know some info on this.  Thanks guys

I would say a bad battery can cause all kinds of strange problems.

When you try to start the engine there isn't enough reserve power left to supply the electronics, consequently the data can become corrupt and cause things to malfunction.

A good battery would be my first priority.

thanks MicMac for that good info, well i gonna change my battery today finger crossed!!!! hope will do  good for me

The 7 speed DSG has a 12v driven oil pump unlike the 6 speed which is driven directly from the input into the gearbox.

So if the battery isn't able to output the required amps to run the pump (it's connected via a 30amp fuse!) then it can cause issues.
