Canton tweeter

Featured Replies

hi! it is possible to switch just basic front tweeter with a canton tweeter ? or it is needed special wiring, adaptation etc.

if it’s not possible, any recommandation for good tweeters that looks oem ?

octavia 3 2016 pre facelift.

thanks !

Get the part number for the canton or look at the part. It may have a different wiring plug, you could fix that.  If it is designed to work with a crossover, which is probably likely you would need to run a cross over or solder a capacitor in line to filter low frequency.

There are probably multiple decent options other than canton. Try google search as I don't have any specific experience of the mk3 tweeter. sometime you can adapt the original tweeter trim by removing the old tweeter but it depends on the design, size where they are mounted etc....

Someone else who has upgraded maybe able to offer more specific advice...

seems to be a little to hard if they a capacitor is needed i think. the tweeter itself fits the basic trim or needs the canton’s special trim ?

what would be a good replacement, i was looking at some Hertz tweeters, but I don't know the size/diameter.

The canton speakers are not direct upgrades for standard as they have different resistance ratings.

My question was more like: I have Canton speakers in my O3 and the tweeters sound weird on some songs, they do a buzz on high frequencies. So I want to replace them with some other aftermarket tweeters, something from Hertz, but I don't know what model/diameter would fit. I guess I just have to disassemble the doors and check that for myself in spring.
