Hi guys 

 

When I unlock my car and open the door I can hear a strange “bong” sound from inside the car, it keeps making this noise until I start the car. Does anyone know why it does this/what it is? I’ve never known this before and I’ve had the car for 3years

The lights are switched on?

Nope lights are definitely switched off

Check the battery could be low voltage.

That could be the issue has when the car has been sat unused for a couple of days it does seem hesitant to start 🤔. I’m self isolating at the moment to so can’t really venture to the garage to get my battery checked 😔

Hello, I have exactly the same noise coming from my 2010 Octavia Estate. I have always presumed that it is due to a lower Battery voltage. I get this if I have been washing the car and left the doors or boot open for a long period.

Again, it appears to only happen if the car has not been used for some time. My wife's 2019 Fabia Estate, has also had this "Bong" sound.
