My 2011 vrs makes a beeping sound!!!
octaviatjs replied to pee81's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hello, I have exactly the same noise coming from my 2010 Octavia Estate. I have always presumed that it is due to a lower Battery voltage. I get this if I have been washing the car and left the doors or boot open for a long period. Again, it appears to only happen if the car has not been used for some time. My wife's 2019 Fabia Estate, has also had this "Bong" sound. -
I have just transferred from using the Osram "Nightbreaker" to H7 Twenty 20 Daylight + 200% 12V 55W 477 Halogen Bulbs (3700K colour temp). These bulbs are covered with a 1 year warranty) . Their cost is around £23 50 a pair, and I obtained them fro www.abd.co.uk. So far they appear ti be OK. My car is a 2010 "Octavia" estate.

Hi, Your horn problem could be as simple as a moth or butterfly wakes up when it is dark, that has got into your car sometime during the day. I had exactly the same problem last Summer and it turned out to be a moth which had come into the car and was on the driver's door. The horn would go off when darkness descended, and it took three nights to discover the moth. Terry

What type of engine I have ?
octaviatjs replied to Jay_tfsi's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hi, From the photo, your engine looks like an EA888 series engine. This is a petrol engine to a very advanced design by AUDI/VW in 2007 onwards. It has 16 valves with 2 balancer shafts. From the photo your engine size is 1798cc, if your vehicle is not a VRS model. I hope that this helps. Terry -
Hello Mark, I have a 2010 Skoda "Octavia" Estate car, which I have owned for 10 years, and I have had very good service from Meadens Ltd in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7SH, Telephone 01590 623344. Although within the New Forest, they have a large Dealership, with customers travelling many miles to have their vehicles serviced. A useful contact is Elton Thorne, who has been with Meadens for a number of years. I hope this is of help to you, Terry
