Have noticed on my relatively recently acquired Sportline Hatch that the rear screen isn't heated at the top area where the upper brake light is.

I'm presuming that this is normal, and that what appear to be heating elements are in fact the DAB Antenna.

Antennas are built into the rear window yes, and on estates they are also built into the rear quarterlights.

Does this mean a rear dashcam, powered by plugging into the front dashcam, will need a ferrite core?  I already intend to use one on the main power supply to the front camera.

Nope it will be just fine, i have a rear camera too and its got no issues.

Ok, can anyone confirm whether or not this area should demist/defrost, as it leaves the upper brake light fogged/frosted. Seems a bit remiss not to clear the brake light.

I was used to the top of the rear screen not demisting on my last car (Jag XF) for the same reason (DAB Antenna) but the upper brake light was above the window line.
