Fog Lights with Corner Function?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry if I'm asking some really stupid questions (I do try to refer to the handbook first).

Since my car is going back to the dealers I bought it from so they can sort out the issues that shouldn't have been there when I bought it (fortunately relatively minor/cosmetic so far) I want to check if there is anything else they have missed.

Please can someone explain the corner/fog lights to me?

I noticed today that when I checked the lights were working after I'd reversed into my drive way, only the right of the lower lights was on so obviously thought that the left bulb had gone. However both Did come on when I put the fog lights on (usually I have the switch to Auto).

The manual mentions the corner lights but I don't quite get why only one would come on on one side? especially if the car is stationary on the driveway and the wheel is pretty straight.

When I put the car into reverse both Did the come on as it suggests? Does this mean the lights are working ok? I'm a bit confused.

Oh also, do the fog lights ever come on automatically or is that always a manual thing? (by pulling the switch out)

Is there any way to determine whether my wipers are automatic or not other than just leaving them on the Int function and waiting for rain?

Thank you

The cornering light will come on at speeds below 25mph on the side that the wheel are turned to, or when indicating. As you have found, they both come on whe reverse is selected.

Fog lights are not clever enough to know it’s foggy and it’s down to the driver to turn them on manually.

If the wiper stalk is in the first position up, then they will indeed operate when the screen gets wet. The sensitivity can be adjusted with the switch on top of wiper stalk.

Thanks very much. I guess my wheel must have been turned slightly to the right still/or indicator on after reversing.
Thank you very much for confirming
