MIB2 Amsdum Smartlink Activation

Featured Replies

My 2015 Sat nav system is outdated and doesn't have the live traffic capabilities of Waze, I want to get my system updated but don't want to pay out if my system cant take it. When I originally asked my dealer when purchasing the car they didn't know what it was or how to unlock. However after seeing recently borrowing the works car for a trip that had the option enabled I saw how useful it could be.

Can anyone help identify my system and let me know the best option for getting the required upgrade.

"MIB2 Skoda Amundsen"

Your part number is the same as my 2016 and therefore should be a MIB2, and you clearly have the option to have Smart Link enabled as your screen shot shows what mine does, as I've never bothered to get it enabled😀

If you don't know and sorry to patronise if so, Smart link allows the mobile phone Apps, CarPlay (apple phone) or AndroidAuto (android phones) to connect via a cable through the usb port and provides integration of the app to the Mib display. So you can get apps displayed on the display. I.e Waze or Google maps, however you won't get anything in the dashboard MaxiDot display from what I understand.

Any Skoda Main dealer should be able to activate it for circa £150 (might be more now).  You might get some reluctancy as it's not a bread and butter job for them. And you might have to try and get hold of a master tech to get the front desk to understand what it is you want. I don't think "enabling smartlink" comes under "servicing" or my car's broke list they have will predominantly have access to🤣

If you search on Google there are a few independent retro fit companies offering it too that have a license for "Odis" that connects to the Skoda "Mothership"  or "Skynet" (if you know the Terminator films) that allows the upgrade of the MiB unit.

Best regards.

Any of you dudes find a fix for this? I can't get any info out of skoda other than them wanting to bill me $220 just to 'run some diagnostics' without any guarantee they'll fix it... even when I'm giving them a very specific problem and solution that only they hold they keys to.

Hello

Please help with advise on the following question, I have an Octavia MK3 2015 with MIB2 Amundsen hardware H24 and Software 0253, 5Q0035874A, it does not have Smartlink activated. I am wondering if I activate Smartlink at dealership, would it work with newer phone models? like Samsung Galaxy S2x series? I undestand that newer Infotaintment systems work but what about older ones? are these compatible with new android phones?

Thanks a lot!
