fabia classic speakers

Featured Replies

Hi there :)

Ive got a fabia classic and wondering what size speakers are in the front and how easy it is to get to the speakers!!!

Yahooo tho :D got headunit and cd player now in the boot just want to fit decent speakers!

cheers all

Andy

Not sure on the size, but they are a pain in the neck to do anything with, because they are moulded on a plinth and then riveted on, so you would have to either make a plinth for the new speakers or find ones with very thin magnets so that it does not catch the window.

If you go for the second option let me know what ou get as this has been bugging mer on and off for 2 years and 2 cars

Thats the sort of thing you will need to do to the Fabia if you want to fit decent speakers in. :(

They are riveted in and a real pain! IIRC they are 16cm.

If they are similar to the MK4 Golf (ie, rivited to deep plastic rings), Auto Leads do an adapter ring that lets you put aftermarket speakers in place of the OEM ones...

Might be worthwhile looking into these to see if they are the same (you never know, they may be out of the same parts bin!)

Other than that, I know some of the mk4 boys have made their own rings out of mdf etc.

Most new VAG cars have 16.5cm speakers in the front.

I done that to my mark 1 polo but i would not do it to a fabia until it was in the same bargain bucket territory, i think i'll check out the autolead spacers though

I think the front are 5.25" - which I reckon is 13cm roughly. (a smidge over) - I'm no expert though! :D

I cannot recommend any decent ones as I've not really done any research.

Colin_G? - you looking at this? I don't what I said about those door speakers you had? Did I say I'd give them a shot?
