Front left Abs Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi

Obdeleven showed front left abs sensor, bought new sensor ( Ate as fitted) and still have fault.

Comes up right away so as you put ignition on.

been doing a bit of research JUST for checking a Abs sensor but seems to be a lot with front left faults appear.

Am I missing something, someone actually changed the battery which fixed the fault 🤔

Any idea’s

this car is really starting to do my head in

Cheers

Well ffs you couldn’t make it up, just finished running a cable in at this time of night 😥

why is nowt straight forward 😤😤

other year Abs fault etc, scanned, o/s/r abs sensor. New sensor fitted ( broke old getting it out) but turned out to be hub.

This time front left, new sensor fitted but no better

Dive shaft removed and abs ring checked, all seemed ok

Turned out it’s the earth wire between sensor plug and plug on abs pump.

Absolutely fantastic

Ran new earth cable in and now fault clear with no dash warning lights on.

Fixing cars at 23.30 at night 🙄, just need to put it all back together now.

If a gallon of petrol wasn’t so much I’d set fire to it 😂

Just waiting to for rear coil springs to come now 🙄

Hi Snapper, did you replace the loom from the sensor to the pump or splice in a new earth write from somewhere else? I've seen so many reports of replacement abs sensors not fixing the fault. My superb has an intermittent fault, sometimes it drives fine with no fault alarms but a lot of the time the faults come on...abs, asr, tyre pressure, headlamp turn function etc.

If they show whilst you are rolling, when safe turn ignition off, press clutch in, turn on ignition let out clutch, that used to clear it all on mine, but had success replacing 5.5 year old battery  --  think starting the car took too much out of the old battery which tripped the memory etc.  As above it was me with the battery solution!

Hi, just seen your comment.

My lads an electrician and after watching YouTube knew which cable to check at the Abs pump plug.

Thats when he discovered the earth cable was faulty.

We just ran another earth cable in, looked in to buying a new one but the brake pad sensor is also joins in to and not on knowing where that went decided on just replacing the one wire.

from memory it was the 2nd black cable up from the bottom in this top picture

My fault came back right away when you knocked ignition on after clearing.

You didn’t even have to move the car.

Using both Obdeleven and Vcd’s (if I’ve got them right)
