Hi there...

 

I have a 2005 Octavia vrs, my speedo has stopped working and my fuel gauge is fluctuating when i turn the car either right or left..

 

The speedo initially used to be wavy now uts completely stopped..have checked using ross tech and testing the speedo works properly.. All functions work in the cluster ( in the test)

 

I have replaced the sensor on the gearbox still no good... Any suggestions will he highly appreciated

I had the same problem and started with the same actions.

I even replaced the instrument cluster.

 

But it turned out that a cable under the hood near the battery going to the speed sensor was frayed and causes both issues.

Fixed the cable and cursed and all the unnecessary spending and went on with my life.
