New to Skoda club - some teething issues with Octavia Elegance TDI CR

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Love the car, bit of a car beginner but would like to learn - just got a couple of bits I'd like to sort out on the vehicle and would prefer to have a go before taking in.

1 - Front driver and passenger speakers not working - what could I try?

2 - CD interchanger not working - says 'Device Error' when I try to allocate a slot for CD - on all 6 slots

3 - Aux not working

4 - I love a manual - this one didn't have it. Anyone know where I can get one?

I'm going to update the radio system but would be good as a temp fix to just get it all working.

Thanks for reading

That's great- thank you so much!

As usual I never notice post count, welcome new member 🤝

You may wish to look at this thread to see if you have someone nearby you can travel to, so that you can get your car scanned with a diagnostic tool.

https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/262215-list-of-vcds-owners-previously-known-as-vag-com-vcp-owners/ some maps you can click on to find them, when you do, check out if they have logged in recently, as you may discover they haven't been online for a year or more.

The usual suspect is the wiring in the door bellows, assuming you mean the front door speakers and not the tweeters in the upper fascia.

Ha that's okay. I want to be interested so thought it would be good to ask some questions.

Thanks for your help, there's a few round me so hopefully can get it looked into. I wonder if it's a wider problem as it's a few things that may be connected.

I do indeed - thanks KenONeill - would a VCDS find that out?

More likely a multimeter in continuity test mode.

Check someone hasn't messed with the stereo fader control and it's possible the CD changer/AUX input share the same connector which is perhaps loose.

I would need to check in the car, but I think there's option on menu to disable Aux input's.

This is the balance-fader to check
