DSG weird behavior

2018 1.5 tsi with the DSG gearbox. 

Today while in traffic, put the car in park and activated the handbrake. When it was time to move, put the car in Drive and stepped on the gas pedal. The car wouldn't move forward. The engine just revved. It only moved after turning the car off and turning the car on again. Has anyone experienced this before? 

The selector might not have engaged Drive correctly and been in N. 

Watch for it again, they can have a brain fart.

 

Maybe better that you Select N and put on the e-Brake if you do not want to just use auto hold with it in D or have Stop / Start enabled.
