Going Sprinting

Featured Replies

I've just bought my first Skoda, a 2007 2.0 litre VFR, I found it had a lumpy tick over and misfire while warming up. I've changed the coil packs and spark plugs which seems to have cured the problem.

Before taking it to Goodwood for a sprint on the 1st October, anything else I should look at other than a good service?

At minimum check the oil and coolant levels (all of them, not just the engine), and tyre pressures. Maybe change the engine oil.

Thank's I've got her booked in for a full service, I'm thinking that maybe a gearbox oil change might be a good idea. Also I see that fuel filter change is not scheduled but I think that too would be worth getting done.

?

Is there a Service Record / Invoice showing when the Fuel Filter was last changed?

?

What about other servicing, did that show when the spark plugs were last changed that you have just changed.

What is getting done at a Full Service?

Is this a Main Dealers or an Independent?

Main Dealer Servicing is not much of anything being done for too much money. (old prices below.)

Now Oil & Inspection services & Extended scope is even worse.

Look at the Air Filter now and change if needed.

No need to pay others for parts or labour for things you can do.

Running it on good fuel from now on until the event would be simply clever.  E5 / Super Unleaded.

Brakes Serviced, Fluid changed.

Good tyres and tyre pressures for the day.
