Help needed - Nav and CarPlay have disappeared

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am in Melbourne AUSTRALIA and last week I connected my iPhone and nothing? I tried my navigation and that too will not function. I rang Skoda where I get the vehicle serviced and they advised me to reset by holding down the on/off knob for 10sec. Still no joy.

I am getting messages that say that Nav data invalid and Telephone not available?

I took it to the dealer and they wanted $214 just to look at it? Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix or should I just pay the man!

I’d say that’s probably corrupt map data and swap codes.

First thing I’d be doing is installing newest software, perform an SVM to bring any missing swap codes and datasets back and then installing the latest maps.

Most of this can only be done with the main dealer software odis - not that an independent can’t have it too though.

You can do as above, or there's another free way if you wish.

You do need access to VCDS to put the head unit into developer mode, otherwise it won't work.

EDIT: Should you go down this route, and have VCDS access, then take a picture from your engineer menu (hold down Menu/Setup for 10 seconds) and post a picture of your software train.

This happened to me. Some kind of software crash wiped the data in memory that tells the system what options the car should have. Fortunately it was under warranty and the dealer connected the computer to HQ and recovered the configuration from the build database, everything was restored. No charge, although they muttered that I must have done something and it could be due to the pedal box. Yea right!

Thanks to all that have provided insight into this issue, either from personal experience to learned knowledge. My warrantee finished in May “wouldn’t you know it!”

I have a service coming up in 4 months, maybe I will do it then.

cheers

Dave
