i got a new octavia 1.6 -8valves october 2005,after 3000 km it started pinging at acceleration,including the skoda agent no body could fix it , i used higher octane fuel,changed egr , lambda sensor and npo use, please advice me .

Have similar problem with our Fabia 1.4 16v. Would also like to know any suggestions to fix this as our dealer has had no joy so far:mad:

If i recall right there is a ECU flash update for this fault known problem on the FSI 1.6 software upgrade back to dealer.

I have seen a software update, not sure what it was for but I'm pretty sure your right.
