1.4 TSI Turbo Noise - normal?

Still getting used to the noises the new car (17 plate 1.4 TSI DSG) makes. Can the turbo normally be heard inside the cabin please? Mine can, particularly when it's cold, normal?

Before I fitted the underbonnet sound pad I could heard the turbo on my 15 plate 1.4TSI when in Sport engine mode.

I have a 2024 Octavia Vrs diesel. Last year I was in France approaching one of the free ferries over the river Seine, downstream of Rouen. I took a wrong turn and had to reverse, then go slowly forward to get to the correct lane. At only about 2 or 3 mph the car came to a sudden violent stop accompanied by a bang. I thought I had hit a hidden obstruction and got out to look. Absolutely nothing, the car had just autonomously and violently braked to a stop with nothing in front of it. Tonight,

2014 SE. Had a low battery which failed to start the car. New battery. Car will start but dies after 3 seconds. Full tank of petrol. Dash engine light goes off but EPC remains on. Dash panel shows 'Safe' at all times. List of items checked: All fuses. Key fob battery. Spare key tried. Cam sensor changed. Ignition barrel and reader antenna changed. Crank sensor passes check. Boxing Day evening whilst static at lights an ambulance damaged my passenger wing and front panel plus headlight and my insurers gave it a non economic write off type “N” so I’m allowed to repair and use again with no long term insurance issues. Having stripped out wing, front panel, headlight and the wheel arch liner I’m thinking it is also a good time to replace front suspension as it will be easy to do with it open.
