Boiling water coolant container

Featured Replies

I have swapped out cam belt, water pump, thermostat and the coolant in the container starts boiling, indicating poor circulation.

Temp goes past 90°c and then goes down when thermostat opens?

I have tested the thermostat and pump and they work..

The pump had broken down in just 20000km but it had circulating water before swap.

flushed the system but no luck,

Water is boiling in the container with open lid when trying to bleed the system of air, next step is the scrap yard..

Anyone have any ideas??? I got the belt and pump of autodoc with registration number provided. Clearly states that it fits.

It's supposed to be a pressurised system, and you're running it unpressurised. That reduces the apparent boiling point to about 100C, rather than the 115C you'd get with the pressure cap closed.
