That’s fault mine had, along with the speedo being unable to display kph. Left it at the dealers in April ‘21. Got it back, fixed in September ‘21!

Has it really taken another year for this notice to be issued?

@sneal Yes it can take time for many DISS reports to be sent in, before they scratch heads a realise there is a pattern.

Big, slow and cumbersome springs to mind... 🤔

It was after a few weeks i got a call from Škoda UK to say that they had a, I think, 7 or 9 cars with the same fault so escalated it to the factory. They asked to use mine as a trial installation of the fix - thankfully it did the job.

The bulk of the five months was s/w diagnostics and development [aka bug fix].

Car being collected by local dealer tomorrow. I’ll be pointing these threads to him.

Just had a phone call to say software updates have been unsuccessful and there is no fix available for my model!

It suggests I bring the car in before every cross channel trip, have them change mph into kph, then reverse on return!!

That sounds mad, but without knowing existing firmware I cannot say.

 

How weird they need to do it for you 🙄

My last update, scheduled for one day along with a service turned in to a three day job (at their request, and I got to keep the courtesy car for that period at no cost).

I was told the first attempt failed and on investigation they found a couple more “minor” updates - which appeared to be prerequisites.

Seems some dealers (or master technicians) are more diligent than others. Fortunately mine seems pretty good.
