Just swapped our Superb SEL 190 4x4 dsg estate for this Octavia VRS Challenge.  The Superb was a good car but it was just a bit boring to drive.  

Is the 190 4x4 a diesel? The Octavia is a much lighter car. Should be good.

Yes, the Superb was a diesel.  We had an Octavia VRS diesel before the Superb but so far this has been great fun. 

Wondering how do you find the ride quality compared to Superb as I’m considering the opposite swap

 

Also the driver’s seat and space seems to be smaller in Octavia, Superb seems to be more comfortable and roomy for me, not sure 🤔

There is no doubt the Superb has more room but the I’ve never really felt I was lacking space in my previous Octavia.  The Superb was a great long distance cruiser, exceptionally comfortable and almost luxurious but I really struggled with the damping.  I never expected it to have the same firmness of a VRS but the constant bouncing and wallowing on country roads is the main reason for my swap back to a VRS.

I've just swapped my  62 plate Superb mk2 4x4 for a 19 plate Vrs tdi 4x4. We've had the Superb for 11 years and 140000 miles, and it's been a steady old barge, and it's time to change with the family gone. I hope the Vrs serves us just as well.......I've got an Impreza spec C if I want to waste petrol!
