Strange Error Message

Featured Replies

Hello,  My first post, having been a lurker for a number of years.  I recently changed my Yeti SEL 4x4, for a 2020 (70 Reg) Karoq 1.5 TSi.  Today whilst driving I suddenly got the yellow warning triangle, no other signs, but the following screen message in the infotainment system

”Error: Emergency call.  Please visit workshop”.

I couldn’t really stop at the time and after about 20 minutes the light on the dash went out and the message disappeared.  Just before I got home it came on again.  Is this a common fault or is it indicating a dangerous problem

There are a metric ton of posts here for the OCU module in the car having issues with errors, so not a major fault to stop you in your tracks.  You may have driven in a poor signal area (or weather lashing it down made it drop)

Most likely you might need a software update for that part to make it more stable, and / or the infotainment system might be needing an update to make sure the system is in harmony,

Brilliant thanks for the reassurance, much appreciated.

You're welcome, just pay attention to anything warning you of the engine, the rest will be this/bulb failure so a lower worry.

If it has warranty, see if you can push dealer for an update to the OCU software (they are usually fairly reluctant to do this sadly sometimes)
