Plastic part, is it from Octavia?

Featured Replies

Hi to everyone!

Just bought Octavia MK2 2006, previous owner put some nets and plastic parts in the trunk. I found location for all of them, except this one.

Any ideas is this part really from this car or it's just a mistake and there is no way I will find where it goes? 😅

I have never seen it on an Octavia but it's possible it clips downwards on the boot wall somewhere in a crescent shape to offer a storage partition.

I was also thinking the same, but can't find any slots, where knobs would fit.

Have you looked on the inside for a stamped part number?

Be 9-10 characters long.

Now I have! 😅 5J7 867 493 Thank you!

MicMac was true, it's storage "organizer" now I just need to find those slots, where to insert it.

On the parts catalog, it's not supposed to be for Octavia, doesn't mean it cannot be placed inside.

Can you take pictures of your interior of your boot, paying attention to the left and right sides (behind the lights)

@MicMac You have a message, @Arturs_L type in @ symbol, and then put in name of person to tag them in message

Seems like it's really not for this car! But anyway thank you for your time @varooom!

All trunk here (it's a hatchback)

It was probably shoe horned into the left side gap I would say.

It would only fit a vehicle like the Yeti which has hard plastic side liners to the load compartment, they have ventilation slots in them which it would clip into.

I have a feeling that the lower ones are obscured when a variofloor is fitted so your one may have become redundant but worked after a fashion when squeezed into the space behind the wheelarch on your vehicle.

The Slots are there for the job of holding the 'Simply Clever' tidy and not for ventilation.

Mk2 Fabia & a Mk3.

Agreed it's off the Fabia. Wife asked me to remove it from hers as it's useless for the jute bags we use that are nicely rectangular. Might be ok if you throw in loose items or use plastic carriers (not that you can fasten it into the Octy).

Who is going to tell my slots that they are not allowed to let air pass through them, you or me? 🤣

Nobody unless they are in the mood for an argument.  & where there are no slots that is just tough t!tty.
