TPMS?

Featured Replies

Noticed a few times when it’s cold in the morning the TPMS flashes and Bongs, but when I flick to the screen it highlights both tyres on the drivers side in Orange, but the pressures are exactly the same as passenger side and the correct pressure.

Within a few miles it’s all normal, no warning and pressures exactly the same but not highlighted.

Anyone else had this?

Since checking and setting the pressures have you set the TPMS, and then repeated setting the TPMS and still getting the same thing?

Is the tyres at the side getting the warning sitting facing the sun rising in the mornings?

Must confess not checked the pressures myself, as I’ve only just got it. But will check and reset in the morning.

car is in the shade till about 10am.

Lets hope they are not still at the In Transit pressure for transportation.

Or they could even have been adjusted and the TPMS not reset.

Best never to leave you and others safety to someone that might or might not do their job properly at a PDI.

Interesting to hear you have tyre pressure readings, I guess that means VAG have started fitting actual TPMS sensors in each wheel.

You may find the larger tyres are more susceptable to changes in pressure than smaller wheels.

Occasionally the warning will trigger on my car when the temps dip, but it also went a tad bonkers last summer when I travelled south down the M6 to a sweltering Cheshire.

Well managed to dodge the rain for a few minutes and checked all the pressures added a few more psi in each.

Am I being thick? I can’t find anywhere to rest the pressures, Menu - Vehicle - settings - tyres. Takes me to a screen that shows wheel size and suspension settings ie 5 seats or 7 seats also winter tyres yes or no and speed rateing limit.

nowhere can I reset the tyre pressures.

But the screen that shows the 4 wheel pressures has updated to new pressure for each wheel.

So I’m guessing it does it automatically, like my Tesla did.

A good improvement over my Mk3 Octavia where you had to go into the tyre settings and press reset with the engine off.

With the direct tpms the display  shows the current tyre pressure and the recommended pressure in brackets. No need to reset as in previous indirect tpms.
