Rear silencer

Featured Replies

Hello all, the rear silencer on my 63 plate Skoda Fabia 1.2  tsi is looking very rusty and flakey and has been pointed out at the last two services, it is not blowing or noisey is it worth getting this part changed or wait until it does blow.

Thanks in advance

Do you smell exhaust at any speed with the ventilation set to exterior rather than recirculate?

Wait as they can last a long time.  But start your research on where you are getting the replacement and how much they are now so you know.

Leave it until it fails MOT. If you replace it now with a cheap pattern part, that may well fail sooner than your existing one would have if you'd left it on.

Thanks for your replies, there is no exhaust smell in the car, so will take your advice and wait.

Thanks ahain

Geoff
