Clutch slip

Featured Replies

I have on 2 occasions experienced clutch slip from my DSG when under load and raining heavily.

Is this something to worry about.?  Any comments appreciated. Dry clutch system.

Welcome.

How long have you had the car and how many miles has it done?

You are going to have to have a professional check out your DQ200 DSG since you are aware of the slip.

A reset of the DQ200 DSG might be in order at 7 years old.

If it was just in heavy rain are you sure the issue was not just your tyres and a case of wheel spin / aquaplaning?

Thanks toot.

I have used the car for driving instruction for 20 months. IT has covered 55,000 miles.

The slip was on initial take off. Not when running at speed.

What is the reset you mention?

An Automatic Gearbox Specialist can plug in and do a reset of the clutches clamping pressure.

You might actually be needing the clutch packs replaced though.    I would not go to a Skoda Main Dealership.

You will find 'Basic DSG reset'  DIY online.   No harm trying but i doubt it will make any difference.

Vids on youtube, forum posts etc.

Many thanks for your help. That has certainly set me on the correct path.

@DSGJohn I take it you know that If you get any wheel spin / lack of traction the TC / ASR can cut power / drive,  & not just nip at the brakes.
