2008 radio/headunit

Featured Replies

I bought a 2008 scout which had a rubbish android headunit.

I bought an original skoda headunit from a 2006 octavia VRS for a fiver, Ive plugged it in and its asking for a code. 4 numbers 0-9, Ive got no idea. Ive aaked the seller but I dont expect a response.

Is there a factory default code or a way to over-ride or bypass it?

Thanks!

Hi

You will need the code, you may be able to do via the serial number, if you look on the internet via a big auction site you may get the code from there, quote the serial number pay a few quid and get the code.

Hi, thanks. I was wondering if there was a factory default code that would be worth trying, since getting the code will cost more than the headunit.

The seller still has the car, including the handbook, that the headunit came from, any ideas where the code will be?

Thanks!

No there isn't a factory default code and don't try to guess the number as you may permanently lock out the head unit, I used to decode car stereos but I have retired now and don't have the equipment anymore. If I remember correctly the head unit came with it's own separate hand book the code may be in there.
