Whine heard in cabin on tickover and at low revs

Featured Replies

I've just had my Skoda Yeti OD SE L 2.0 TDI CR  4x4 tronic gearbox serviced under a Skoda service agreement at a Skoda dealers garage. I asked for an opinion on the cause of this noise that continued for a couple of seconds after the ignition was switched off. The answer came back that it's the fuel pump. Has anybody else experienced this? The garage didn't think that it needed replacing so do I have to wait for it to fail? Any opinions and/or experience of this would be much appreciated.

I had the same noise last week same model but I only had 50 miles distance left in tank,

When I topped up tank noise disappeared so assume it was fuel pump struggling to pick up fuel.

Thanks for replying. I guess that the noise is constant and that I only hear it at low speeds and revs
