feeling a little off...!!

Featured Replies

The car that is, not me.

Only had my octy vrs two weeks and sometimes it just doesn't want to go....:thumbdwn:

Usually goes like a train but every so often it seems sluggish and almost 'non turbo'd'. Might be my imagination but seems worse in the hotter weather. Diagnostics show no faults so i called Jabba for some advice. they told me what mass air reading to expect and mine was a shade low (at idle) so i rang back while the car was connected to vag-com and it looks like afm (maf sensor) is up the swanny... Going in on monday for new maf so fingers crossed.

Moral = Jabba are a friendly, knowledgeable and helpfull bunch.

Will keep you posted on the 'fix' .

J.

Also remember that in this hot weather there will be less air available (as it's warmer and therefore less dense) which means that the car has to back off the amount of fuel in the mix to compensate :D

Bigger FMIC will help reduce this significantly :D

Jabba said the readings i had were 'low' i.e. lean which would be made worse in higher temps. will see monday i guess. Dont suppose you have a fmic to give away... .

Let me know how much new MAF will cost if you need one, as i probably need one too as its very draggy since ive had it, as this is a known problem with some octys.

Cheers Matey!!!

Price on exchange is circa £76.50 excluding a refundable deposit (£20?) which you get back when you return the old MAF to the dealer.

Is that from a VAG Dealer? or private?

Just had maf replaced at Jabba and its like driving a different car:thumbup:

Old one was running lean so not long before a dead engine if it had been left.

Does anyone know a Jabba place in or near Stevenage???

Cheers,

James

(and a very attractive receptionist...!)

I'll tell Carole you said that......don't know what Brian....husband and co-owner of Jabba...will make of it though. ;):D
