Greenscore

Featured Replies

I've been observing the green score calculations. It's got a few oddities. If I drive down a motorway at a steady speed then the score is higher when going up hill and drops when going down hill. I also get a much higher score on the 40mph roads near me with multiple roundabouts than I do when sitting on the flat motorway at, say, 55 mph.

I can find no published information about the greenscore and the manual only makes a passing reference to it.

I'm still a bit confused by it, but think that it could be based on pollutants, since under loaded engines can produce worse results than if they are loaded.

Ignore it, drive how you drive

I tend to get around 80-85 from it most of the time. I'm just interested in how it works and what it's supposed to do. It seems a bit counter intuitive that things that improve the mpg sometimes reduce the greenscore.

Like, ignore it. Why do you want a car to score your driving?

I want to know the rationale behind it because I am curious.

It's all a load of rubbish anyway. ..

1: Never take any notice what MPG your car is telling you. It lies.

2: Never take any notice of what the VAG tell you about your cars performance figures. They lie.

3: If your bothered about driving Green. Why are you driving a Fabia 😆

I must agree wrt understanding how it calculates figures, it not going to hugely influence driving but would be fun once you know how it calculates to see what can be achieved, until I get bored to the tailback behind becomes all issue!,,,
