For and Against Tyre Pressure Monitoring please on the L&K estate

You can easily check the tyre pressure yourself every month or so?

I believe the TPM monitors a relative drop in tyre pressure rather than warning you what your tyre pressures are. So I guess it would be useful if you had a sudden loss of pressure as you are driving so you can take appropriae action there and then.

Having TPM is not an alternative to not checking your tyre pressures periodically.

If it were a choice of 'to have' or 'not to have' then I would have it every time. It has already alerted me to a nail that was embeded in my rear tyre which without it I would have not noticed as visually all looked well.

Hi All Thanks for the feedback very helpful

Agreed, I chose it purely for safety as a vast proportion of my driving is at motorway speeds so any early warning could be the difference between pulling over in safety or having a nasty accident.

It's all done by the ABS sensors and a calculation of each tyres rolling circumference and not via a pressure transducer like in the Renault lasagne which are a pain in the ar$e from what I hear. The VAG system is much simpler.

There have been suggestions that it can differentiate down to 4psi across tyres.

For £50 It's a bit of a no brainer (and I HATE saying that!)
