2010 Octavia VRS Clock Ring (squib?) broken?

Featured Replies

Hi advice gods,

I have an airbag light on and non working horn on my VRS.

Initial investigation of those issues coupled with a crackling noise form the steering wheel lead me to believe it is a clockring / squib issue.

The whole clockring thing is a minefield (prices range from £25 to £350!) and with funds tight I was hoping someone had the correct part code.

Is a ribbon repair a viable DIY option?

It has cruise control but no steering wheel controls.

VIN number is TMBUH21Z2B2049095

Yes it can be repaired if you have good soldering skills, suitable equipment and are experienced in prying apart small plastic assemblies that were not intended to be disassembled.

Some people offer it as a service you might even be able to tempt @Breezy_Pete
