Can contact details be used as a satnav destination? In other words instead of inputting an address into the location line, I simply type in my sons name for example?  Tried it with my phone in the car connected to wi-fi but without success. Obviously the car picks up all my contacts for the purposes of the phone, so just wondered if same would work for satnav.

I doubt it. Probably far easier to just add your lad's address to Favourites

It would if you used Android Auto rather than the in-built navigation.  Appreciate that isn't what you asked but you can navigate to a Contact.

If you prefer to use the in-built system then add him (and any others) as Favourites as @Lee has suggested.
