Skoda superb 2018 sportline 2.0 TDI 190ps engine oil

Need an oil change what should I buy?

Anything that meets VAG spec 507.00.

504.00-507.00 indeed.

I ve been using Total Ineo Quartz for at least 45 to 60000km in my TDI190 engine.

No problem with it and additionally one of the less expensive.

Do you want to know what oil? What other parts? Part numbers? Tools?

A few more words may help us all out :)

if it’s just oil spec then the replies above cover that nicely, a long life 3 fully synthetic with spec 504.00 or 507.00 is required.

Not sure how important it actually is but mine was supposed to be 0W-30 (as well as being VW 504 / 507) which I struggled to find for a while (eventually got a Shell product from Euro Car Parts) - there were heaps of 5W-30 around but not many 0W-30.

But your car could be different - mine is the slightly newer 200 TDI.

i hope you did'nt use vw 504/507 in the new evo engines, you are correct about it being 0w-30 but  it must be vw 508

vw 507 oil comes in 0w -30  but it is not the right oil for the evo engines,  not sure if it would cause any issues though

Can a MY18 be considered as a new evo engine? 🤔

facelift superb onwards, so 2019/20 on

lots of new bits in the engine, i've had vw tdi engines since they first came out and these new engines are the best yet, noticeably  quieter and quicker

the original tdi's always needed around 10,000 miles before they loosened off but that's not the case with the new evo  engine

regarding the oil,  i done a diy old change a month or so ago in my 2022 superb  tdi and i've just had a look at the oil spec i used and it was 0w -20   [vw 508]

That appears to refer to the 150 PS engine only.   I'm wondering if all the 190 TDI engines are Evo ones and particularly the DFHA in our Karoq.

both the 150 and 200 tdi in the facelift superb  from 2019/20 on are evo engines

not sure about other skoda models like the karoq, but i'd take a guess that the superb was the first skoda model to get the evo engines and the 190 tdi's are not evo engines

It looks like all the 190 TDI engines have the same DFHA code.    Oil recommendations include 5w-30 and 0w-30 but only 507.00.  I see 508.00 being quoted as for petrol engines and the latest diesel spec is 509.00

i believe 508 and 509 is the same oil spec because you cant buy 508 on its own  or 509 on its own , all the oil tins say vw 508 / 509

you could be right that 508 is for petrol and 509 is for diesel though

@310golfr, You speak about 2019/2020 engines but our friend in the initial post mentions a MY2018…

My Mk3 ha been built in novembre 2017 and is considered as a MY2018. User’s manual states 504.00-507.00.

yes but my reply was not to the op but to dieselgate who said he used 507 oil in his evo engine , which may or may not be ok

if it's not ok to use 507 oil, it's probably too late now though

Then, IMHO the best thing to do is probably a full engine oil + oil filter replacement to refill with specified oil as per user’s manual…

I agree with @Bap33- wrong engine oil is used. It won’t harm much but I would change it earlier.

2.0 TDI 184/190/200ps require oil meeting VW 507.00 standard. VW doesn’t sell 5w30 OEM oil meeting this standard anymore but only 0w30. And you could still find many non-OEM 5w30 oils meeting this standard, the standard is what you should watch for when buying an oil for your car. Unless you live in really cold climate.

BTW mine is 200ps TDI Evo engine and still uses VW 507.00 oil(0w30 from the factory), while the 150ps version of the engine from the same year requires oil meeting 509.00 standard, which are only 0w20 oils, I believe.

VW / Audi on a bottle of oil is not Oil Produced by VW / Audi, the oil comes from an oil producers.

As far as VW not selling VW504 00 / 507 00 as in 5w 30 FS III and only 0w 30 FS III, not the case in the UK with VW Group / TPS, and the Oil is now from Fuchs Oils / Quantum range of oil.

Ahh that could be the case for UK, yes. Thanks @Rooted!

Sorry - just catching up on this. The label in the engine bay says VW 504 / 507 0W-30 so that's what I used. It had a full oil change at a service a couple of months later but I didn't check what they used. Hopefully the right stuff! The stuff I put in was just 1L as a top up as the level was low.

No worries at all then. Happy holidays :)

it a bit strange that vw/skoda have different spec oils for the 150 tdi v 200 tdi, they are both evo engines as far as i'm aware

my 150 tdi has a label in the engine bay which says  vw 508/509 oil and thats what i used a few months back
