Karoq 1.5 TSI air filter change interval

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm the change interval for the air filter on a 1.5 TSI DSG Karoq 2018.  The Skoda site appears to require it to be replaced at 6 years/60k miles.

Yes they give it as @ 6 years / 60,000 miles.

'They' do not know where you live, drive or park the car.  Countryside, near a quarry, near the seaside, in a town next to a bus route.

In the days of Minor / Major Service year about it was at the 2nd Major Service the same as the Spark Plugs. 4 years / 40,000 miles.

It should have been checked at each service though.... Simply Clever, a couple of minutes when Air Filter boxes were simple to access.

So really at least once a year or at a service that might be 2 years apart, so between services look at the air filter.

Is it Clean / Dry.

This is winter in the UK, maybe you need to go through deep puddles, fords, floods.

Long and short, check an air filter.  Edinburgh City Centre and around there are still dirty taxis and busses and other vehicles putting out high emissions and vehicles sitting day in day out in traffic can have a dirty black air filter.  Pollen filter as well sooner than 2 years / 20,000 miles.

Live or drive in the countryside and it can be Stoor, Chaf & other crap that has air filter or pollen filter needing a Shake Out, a vacuum or blow through or just replaced.
